Angus is progressing too quickly!

Happy Birthday Angus!

Last Sunday was Angus's birthday and we had a party on Saturday. We invite people over to play in the gym at Warner Park and then birthday cake! I made the cake myself and decorated it with fondant versions of Tonto and Scotch (who could not be present). It's been a while since I used my cake decorating skills so I watched an Ace and Cake and dove in. It turned out great I think!

Thanks to everyone that came out and made it a very special day! My baby is 1 :(

Trip to New Richmond and The Cities

Last Friday we went up to New Richmond to visit Troy and family. I already wrote about the Renaissance Fair, but the real fun was watching Angus interact with his cousins. Boy does he love them and they were awesome with him! Above is a picture of all of them smashed against the patio door. That was Angus's favorite place and Morgan and Garret joined in on the fun.

On Sunday we went into the Cities and visited Rolly and the Walker (only the outside part). It was fun, but hot!

Overall it was a nice vacation (that part of it). That Sunday night I got sick and have been sick for the whole last week. I don't know how I'm going to go back to work... what a week wasted.

A standing Angus!

For the last week or so Angus has been taking 1 or 2 steps. Then yesterday we were outside and he goes into a standing position from crawl. Pretty awesome. By the end of the day he was doing it every few minutes.. it's amazing how fast a skill is formed. After that he ended up taking 4 step in the living room! Very exciting and scary all in the same step.

MN Renissaunce Fair

We went to the fair today with Troy and the family. Angus even dressed in character for the Highland Fling weekend.

Angus's New Face

Starting a couple days ago Angus started to make this face with his tongue sticking out(it looks like his upper lip but it's his tongue) It's so funny. He must have gotten it from scotch.

This first one is from Friday. We went down to the Union since it was actually a beautiful summer evening. The played in the grass off Library Mall. It was great!

Awesome Night Last Night!

Last night Todd and I got to go out to a concert together! It was the most fun I've had in years. It was one of our favorite bands, Lucero , who we used to go down to  Chicago in the middle of the week to see! (when we were young..)  Thank you again Jill for babysitting!!

I got a picture for the first time ever with Ben, the lead singer! (this is like our 8th show)

Visit with the cousins

This last weekend we got a visit from Troy and family. Angus got to experience Ella's for the first time. We hung out with the dogs and basically had a lot of fun!

Walking with a little help

Angus has discovered a new talent. getting behind something taller, box or laundry basket, and walk! No need for mom and dad anymore. It's fun, but scary all in the same time (for mom and dad at least)

Visit with Julie

Julie and Joe came down to Madison so Angus and I got to visit with them. Joe was only a month old last time we saw him (see December photos). Boy he and Angus are growing up quick!

Pottery Festival

This last weekend Todd had a pottery show in Cambridge, WI. He competed in the Pottery Games too.  The whole Ruda family came down to cheer him on and help watch Angus while I manned the both (as Todd was competing). It was a nice day and fun. The last picture was just a fun photo I got of our happy little man :)

Angus turns 9 months old!

Well it's sure getting a lot harder to get a decent monthly photo. These are 2 of the best shots I got out of like 20.  Even with Grandma Ruda's and Uncle David's help!

Enjoying the heat..

On Sunday when it was soo hot out we broke out the $7 pool I bought Angus and his shark swimsuit. He loved splashing around outside.  Due to his current talent of crawling though he was more interested in crawling over the pool's side and touching the grass.  I can't wait for swimming lessons at the end of June! I'd better find a mommy swimsuit soon because none of my old ones fit.. :(

A tribute to another Angus

If any of you know ACDC's front man you'll appreciate this picture as a tribute to him. I saw this onesie at Old Navy and had to get it for Todd (I mean Angus)

Just more things to catch up on..

 Indie and Tim stopped over Saturday. Indie is over 3 months old now and I haven't seen him since 1 month old. He's grown so much! So cute! Angus just loved him. Angus stroked his arm and just sat across from him laughing his head off.  They were so cute together!

 Todd also made some baby food this weekend since we are going through that like crazy now. We have Cinnamon/Sweet Potato/Carrot, Pear/Apple, and Pea/Spinach/Carrot. The turned out great. I'd eat them :)

And finally I finished the mobile tonight! There it is. I decided to not knit all the little faces on.. but I still think it looks great and Angus will love it. (He already likes the ring with just the strings hanging down so it'll be a surprise tomorrow morning to see other things hanging there)

Peek-a-boo

Angus's new favorite game is peek-a-boo. He loves when you put a towel or clothes over his head and he throws them off. He's also initiating it when we wipe him down after supper. He takes the washcloth and holds it up and then puts it down. Even if he doesn't really cover his face he can't seem to wait for you to say something when it pulls his arms down.

Crawling on all fours

I finally caught Angus crawling on all fours on camera! He doesn't do it often, but he has started doing it the past week or so.  He also got another tooth on Saturday... he's going to graduate high school if I blink my eyes :(

Mini Todd

This are two of my new favorite photos. Todd is dressing him in plaid shirts... I'll have to watch out or Angus will become a mini Todd, dreads, plaids, and all :)  My men are so handsome.

8 months old!

Angus is 8 months old today! I can't believe I haven't posted for a month, boy has time flown by. Well to catch up in the last month quickly Angus has: crawled even more, is pulling himself up where ever he can, eating solid foods twice a day, got 4 more teeth (yeah that was a fun week), and is turning the pages of the board books when we read to him.

Grandma Hafele came to visit last week and the Rudas came to visit last weekend. It was a busy week.

7 months old

Angus turned 7 months old yesterday.. my has the time flown. He slept for almost 5 hours last night! It was great.. of course after those 5 he was up almost every hour. But I will take what I can get, things are getting better!

We are also enjoying eating dinner more and more. Here the sweet potatoes have kind of exploded. Angus still insists on feeding himself most of the time. It was straight to the bath after this meal :)

Angus feeding himself

We have been eating solids now again for about a week. Angus is loving them (carrots and prunes so far). Generally I get to feed him, but tonight he was all about feeding himself most of the time. It's good it was bath night.

New camcorder

Today I got a camcorder. We were just using the one on my phone, but I wanted one that did a bit better in low light. It's still a little, cheap, one, a Kodak PlaySport. It can go underwater 10 feet and is the size of a cell phone. I like it. It's simple to use and takes a SD card. So hopefully we'll be doing some more movies!

Well now seeing the video after I uploaded it I'm not quite happy with the quality... it is the lower pixels though to make the file smaller. Maybe I'll have to play with it some more..  it looked superb on the small camcorder screen :(

We love to swing!

Saturday we hung up a swing for Angus in the backyard on the oak tree. He loved it from the first push!

6 months old!

Uncle David

David came down for a concert tonight and I got a good photo of him and Angus I thought I'd share. Sorry I share more photos than anything on here. Nothing much new, Anugs is still not sleeping well which is making it a very loonngg week!

Bath Time!

Angus is finally strong enough to sit up on his own for quite a while so we moved to the bath seat during bath time. He just loves loves loves baths. Tonight he cried for a few minutes when I took him out :(  We're going to have to start swimming lessons soon..

Troy and Family Visit

This weekend Todd's brother Troy and family came down. It was great having them down. We played games, went to the zoo, and of course Ella's Deli for ice cream. We loved seeing them. Angus was so much more interactive then he was at Christmas, and loved playing with everyone.

This week we also started Angus on rice cereal. That along with some extra milk has made him a happier baby. Now only if it made him sleep longer :)  He wants to feed himself already so it's a struggle to get him to let me have the spoon. I can't believe he's so old already, it make me almost cry.. I'd better get used to it.

New Sweater

I started a new sweater a week ago. It's knitted top-down and in the round (in one piece). This is my first like this and I'm excited. Since it's top down you can try it on and adjust. So I got to the arms and I did that. It was a little small so I took out a few rows and made it a bit bigger. So awesome!
